Front suspension king-pin reamer

I just noticed on another board that a few people have worn out king-pin reamers for Spridgets (and other cars) and are thinking of throwing them away. DON'T. Send them to me and I can get them resharpened to like-new specs for very little (ie: free) and I'll send them back. We need to stick together to keep these cars on the road.

You should get everybody to send them to you. Then you can sharpen them and rent them out to us for a small fee. It's a tool that most of us will only need once in our lives. You can do it kinda the way Autozone does it. Basically, you charge a deposit that is the value of the tool. That will discourage people from being lazy about sending them back. Add to that a "shipping and handling" fee that covers your expense and effort and Bob's your uncle. It would be a great service to the community and maybe a little beer money for you.
 
No- I think that it would be better to let them stay scattered around the country (world?) for easier access. For the next several years I should have access to having them resharpened by a very qualified source and the cost won't exist. I think that the car clubs should keep them in their inventory for faster access.

How do you sharpen them without them going undersize?

A reamer is ONLY supposed to cut on the front edge, NEVER on the sides so the sides should never go undersize. Just truing the front edges (doing this very evenly is important) is all that there is to sharpening, and then spraying some oil on them and keeping them is an air-tight plastic bag keeps them in "like-new" condition until they are used.
(There are some strange thing one learns by being in the drill/ream design group of a big airplane company)
