I'm converting My 59 Bugeye to Midget disc brakes set-up and figured I'd change the front springs while I was at it. When I went and looked in the Moss book there where a few types, how do I know which ones I need????????????

265-590 $49.95
SPRING
to HAN8-58380, GAN3-46040

265-610 $39.95
SPRING
from HAN8-58381 on GAN3-46041 to GAN6-171477

265-620 $33.95
SPRING
GAN6-171478 on

The springs are rated to the weight of the car.
Bugeyes with their smaller engine needed one size.
Later cars with a 1275 needed another size, and 1500s needed the heavy duty springs to hold up the rubber bumper and added frame work for the bumpers.
So if you have a 948, get Bugeye springs.
If you have a 1275 in a Bugeye, go for the $39 springs.

I actually have a Mazda 13B rotary which is a tad heavier than the original 948, so I guess I should go with the 1275?

I'd think you'd be safe with the 1275 springs if you have a steel bonnet. I'm using 948 springs with my 1275, and it is working out fine. So, the original 948 may be OK too.

they also list competition springs

I have a set of 340 lb springs on my midget. They are VERY stiff for road use. I think I might switch back to standard and increase my sway bar diameter. But first I need to get the car running again.

Trevor, It's time, get the radiator back in and get up to British Car Days in Dayton. As always the first Saturday in August, Eastwood Metro Park. Ugly Bug needs a long road trip to make sure all is right with the world.
