TR2/3/3A Front Seat Reupholstery and Seat Heaters

I am looking for advise on reupholstering my front seats in my 1959 TR3. I purchased a vinyl seat kit from TRF quite a few years ago and then bought the "original" horse hair padding kit a couple of years ago and then more recently my wife bought me seat heater kit that she thinks will be nice little addition. My questions are pertaining to the best way to go about getting the seats completed after more than 10 years of thinking about it?

Does anyone have any experience or advise on using the seat heaters and reupholstering kits. I did the conversion to an alternator as required, the design of the seat heater system allows for them to be installed under the seat upholstery or under a seat cover, is one way better than the other? The seat springs I have are the originals should I consider replacing them or just go with them even though they are a bit rusty and been around a long time? I am leaning towards taking everything to an upholstering shop, any thoughts on this are appreciated!

Dorn,
long time no hear!
I would let a professional do it. Unless you have a lot of time and patience. There is a good upholstery shop here in Brentwood. Let me know! Seat heaters in California? Just saying!

We have seat heaters in all three of our British cars. Nice if it gets cold and you can make them so nobody sees the wires. I think the springs you have can be reused. As Dan says, if you are not confident, hire it done. Probably won't cost that much.

How would one go about wiring up a seat heater on a positive ground car? Is it as simple as connecting the ground on the seat heater to the "positive" on the car? (With a switch wired in obviously) Or is it more complicated than that? This would be a nice modification for Wisconsin springs and falls.
