Well I got the pistons in and have moved on to the front plate. I did notice something that concerns me, but might not be a biggie. The front main cap sticks proud above of the plate surface a little (.003 or so) just from the wiggle room around the bolt housing. My question is should I loosen the cap back up and tap that back that little bit or just let the gasket and sealer deal with it.
To confirm it is possible to have the cap stick out that little bit, I took an old block and tightened the cap, and they do have that much free play. My fear is the crank is in and so are pistons and I am not sure about backing the stuff off or if moving the bearing that (003) latterly would hurt anything.
