Front lamp questions

I've removed the front bumpers from my 79 Midget and am closing off the huge holes for the front lamps and need to install a blinker/parking lamp assembly. Jim from BRG (local Moss distributor) suggested TR lamps and I'd like to find out some dimensions and functions. These are the ones I'm looking at...
TRI-066.gif

The top one is Moss #143-450 for TR2 & TR3
The bottom is Moss #544-050 and for later TR3's

I'd like to know how big (diameter) these are and whether they also function are parking lites working on 12V system.
I'm open for other suggestions.

This picture shows the front end.

Thanks,

Both light assemblys are the same diameter. An inch and one quarter hole will accomodate either assembly. They can be wired for 12 pos or neg voltage. {wires do not come with these assemblys.} The rubber boot legnth on the early style assembly is longer than the late style. The part that will protrude through the front apron on the early style boot is three inches {be sure you will have clearance for the tires}

{I don`t know the legnth on the later style boots, maybe someone else does.}

Oh BTW both assemblys are Park/Turn signal lights. {the Dual element bulbs}

Don't forget you need room behind the boot for the wires to exit ... I would suggest 3.5" for the early ones (giving 1/2" for the wires). Later boots protrude 2", but again I'd allow 2.5" for the wires.

The largest diameter (where it rests against the sheet metal) is just under 3". They mount with 3 screws (#6 as I recall but you can enlarge the holes if need be) evenly spaced on an approx 1.75" circle. Take standard 1157 bulbs (also 1034, 2057, 2357, etc.)

If you happen to look at used lamps, be warned that the later TR3/A/B had a single-filament version in the rear.

The front lamps come with clear lenses, but yellow and red are available for the later "beehive" version lamps.
