Front fenders

or can anyone name the mounting locations? could be in the same vein as Jack's bugeye trivia.... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

How come you gave up on your front hinged bonnet? Mine looks almost as bad as your did and some Bondo and primer and I'll be ready to go. Replaced lower edges of wings but now that bonnet is on car need to go back and remove pop rivets and reweld in place. Other than that this one will be good to go. Front hinge a little bit of a pain to get aligned but figured it out. Bugsy will never be a concours car, I've accepted that and all the dings and bangs to the body but he's the way I want and he gets driven a lot.

BTW, when I took off all of the front clip I found out I was missing half of the bolts any way. Get most of them on there and it will work.

ha! the more I looked at it I didnt like the bugeye bonnet with the square wheel arches....I don't mind it on the RWA cars but for some reason it just didnt look right on my SWA. Not to mention the amount it was going to cost me to have the shop work it over and get it painted.

I still have the bugeye bonnet though and will likely ebay it in the near future.

I ordered a fastener kit from moss (through Tony, Thanks Tony!) for the front fenders and there were more bolts in the package than I remember removing. Maybe my car was missing several too? But I was hoping to find a diagram or something showing the relative location as to where all these go.

Branson,
Having recently assembled my front clip here goes.

each fender is attached from inside the footwell with 4 fine thread bolts, flat washer and lock washer. 3 just inside the door running in a straight line top to bottom and one near the front of the foot well.

On the outside there is one bolt where the top of the fender meets the top of the cowl, you need to reach into the firewall to put in this bolt.

There is also a screw that goes into a pre welded nut at the rear of the fender, it attaches below the rain gutter along the top of the fire wall. Make sure the fender is below the gutter not on top. This takes a fine thread large head screw, flat washer and lock washer.

Each fender attaches to the front cowl, 3 underneath on each side and two on the top visible from top of cowl.

You now will have the clip all together. The cowl should fit snuggly into the front frame where there are 3 bolts on the upright rails and 4 bolts on the bottom plate.

That is all she wrote.

Mark
