Front Fender Bolts...Uggghhhh!

How do you get those two !@#$% bolts out that attach the RH front fender from under the dash? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif There is a "folding" nut lock on my bolts and I can't get them flattened enough to get a socket on them. Space is very limited with the dash and wiper motor right there in the way. Does anybody know if there's a secret to getting these bolts out? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Yes, to no avail. The problem is the lock tabs are bent up and this won't allow any kind of wrench to go on the bolts unless they're bent back down first.

Okay. You're right. No tabs. I think it was just real late and I had had one too many beers. Last night I got a better light up under the dash and started prodding around with a screwdriver and determined that the "tabs" were instead body seam sealant that had oozed out from around the bolts as they were tightened (probably from the factory). I broke all that stuff off of there and was able to get the fender off (that one bolt up top had me fooled for a while though)! Thanks for your replies.

Cool, thanks for the follow up. Now at least we all know what happened and how you resolved it.
