TR2/3/3A front fender bead screws?

My car didn't have any fender beading when I got it. Both front fenders have small holes (about #8) that I suspect will align with the tab under the hood of the new front fender beads. If I am to secure the beads to the fenders with screws, what size/shape head are the screws? Are they threaded or self-tapping? Is it possible to put a nut on the inside of the fender?

I understand the curved section will be secured by the tabs -just like the rear fender beads.

Although I will be busy tomorrow and not able to work on the TR3 most of the day, this is the kind of thing that keeps me awake at night...
 
Mine didn't line up that well, perhaps because it's an earlier car, so I had to drill some new holes. Since the unused holes in the fender would be hidden, that's where I put the new ones (to match the holes in the new bead strip).

I believe the screws are supposed to be YA0183, which are #4 round head sheet metal (self-tapping) screws, 3/8" long. I used that size (in pan head instead of round) and they seemed to fit well. It might be possible to put nuts on them, but what a PITA.

I don't think the TR3 has any Phillips screws in it. I agree with Randall #4 round head screw.
 
I believe the originals were slotted, as John said. Mine are Phillips because those were the only replacements I could find at the time.
 
The only Phillips screws I found on my '59 -- and they could be un-original, but don't look it - are the two, each side, securing the red plastic lens to the tail light base.

Hmmmm....mine slotted there too!

The only Phillips I remember we're the screws holding the windings in the generator and starter. And maybe a couple in the headlight assemblies, but can't remember there for sure?
 
John you got me on that one, the generator (dynamo) does have the Phillips screws.
 
Seem to recall the red plastic lens had slotted screws up to TS46360, thereafter Phillips head. Wide mouth grille screws were Phillips head.
