Front apron panel on BJ8

I am in the process of fitting the front bumper and the apron panel on my BJ8, and I would like to know what is the proper gap between the body and the apron panel. The bumper brackets have a little bit of adjustment in them, but I don't want to get it too tight (or too wide, either.) Thanks.

I just did mine a little while ago & bought new brackets (mine were bent), from one of our suppliers. When using the holes provided in the brackets the spacing was a good inch from the front shroud & really looked silly. So I re-drilled the holes in the brackets & closed the gap up to about 1/4" to 3/8" & it looks a lot more normal & more like other Healeys I've seen.

Thanks for the info. The brackets have some adjustment where they bolt to the frame. I need a little more movement to the rear, so I think I will also enlarge that slot a bit, and adjust it.
