frogeye starting problem

I have a recently rebuilt frogeye which was starting first time until about two weeks ago.
Mow when I pull the starter there is no response, I have pushed the overide on the starter solenoid and again no response.
I have changed the startter solenoid for a new one and the problem continues.
I have charged the battery but still nothing.
Starter solenoid switch is showing continuity when I put test leads across it and press in the manual overide.
I have a reading of about 12.5 volts at the imput to starter solenoid.
Any suggestions, could it be the starter? seems strange as everything was working well before latest cold weather??

Dave, you may want to repost this in the Spridget section (Sprite+Midget) This tends to be where the big boys (and girls) hang out.

You should be able to bypass the solenoid completely and jump straight from the battery to the starter - it will tell you instantly whether the starter is the issue or something in between. Use a booster cable.
