last autumn I picked up a dandare hardtop off fleabay. I've just got round to getting it sprayed up & fitted (now spring's on it's way). This top has a lip on the back & I decided to fit a high level brake light. But I didn't like any off the shelf ones, so I made one from five 10mm kingbright LED's in series & a 150ohm resistor. I think it looks great, & they're clear when off.
brakelight and here
What do you think?

nice! looks like it was made that way, and, it appears that there is still room for the lasers on each side.

About your top - what seals did you use and did you put in a new back window - if so, how?

That looks like what I had in mind for that kind of top. Compliments the "space age" look somehow. Dan (Dare) would be proud.

it's held on the back with these two bolts which hook up behind the ally trim at the sides of the cockpit & screw up into a bracket on the sides of the hood. The front edge of the hood hooks up under the lip on the top edge of the screen (for the soft top) & that's it. But I have just made a bracket to fibreglass into the middle inside at the front, with a screw onto the top of the window frame. As my screen does flex back at speed. This is the seal And the back screen came from here but to be honest I could have made one from 3mm plexiglass. The window rubber is an arse to fit, but it was cold when I did it, which didn't help & everything else kept moving & flexing. It's much easier to fit glass windows into steel frames.
lasers next week
