Friend's son missing

I think it was the 6 I saw on the news . Sorry ,my thoughts are out to your friends. In the Cascades this winter it has been a horrific winter for avalanches. We just lost a young girl in our school district that was coached by a friend of mine. A good chance I would have coached her this coming ball year.I think they had said that 20 people so far this year have lost their lives because of the snow.

Fifth night in the freezing snow. Search was called of for the night Tuesday night with no signs of the boys.

I tried to think of something and all I can say is my heart just sank.

We have a son about the same age and I can't imagine what the parents are going through. You hear about stuff like this all the time, and always feel bad. But when you know the people personally it somehow makes it hit home even more. I tossed and turned all night thinking about those boys out there. Without food, they can't last much longer, especially given the harsh conditions.

Let's hope the boys watched enough TV and dug themselves
into a snow cave and are safe if a bit hungry.

Prayers,

d

We don't have any 'words' for you and their family. Waiting is a terrible strain on all those involved. Our prayers are for a good outcome.

My prayers are all that I can offer in a time like this. Our son is a bit younger, but was stuck in a snow drift in CO with a rental car between Christmas and New Years. He was lucky that a Hummer owner came by and pulled him out and Mike was able to complete his trip safely, but the thought of something like this is just numbing.

???? Is there any news? I found these boys in my thoughts all day.

Me too. I just came home and told my wife and I still can't believe it.

This will be their 6th night in sub-zero temps. As much as I hate to think about it, the reality is that they most likely have been dead for some time now. I'm still praying for a miracle, but I'm afraid that's what it would take for them to have survived this long in the weather conditions they have been exposed to. The area where they were has a lot of avalanches, in which case they might not be found until spring. I hate to sound pessimistic, but hope fades with each passing day. Still praying for a happy outcome, but preparing for the worst. My heart sinks for my friend Tom and his wife.

Yep, bad to loose a child. They supose to outlive us.

My heart is sore for those boys. God's mercy be with them.
And peace to you Basil

...rats...

so very sad.

Basil - one thing for sure. Your friend is very very fortunate to have you as a friend.

By the way, there have been *hundreds* of calls and emails to the governor's office requesting the search be continued.

Tom

I sure hope Colorado doesn`t get pounded with a storm like No. Utah had Tues & Wed. My hopes and prayers go out to all of these guys family and friends, May good fortune, luck and God be on thier side.

Just learned that they have called off the search for my friend's son and his friend. They have been missing at Wolf Creek for 7 days now and authorities are assuming the worst. Given the amount of snow, if they are found it probably won't be until spring. I'm very sad for those families.
