Aloha
I retired and moved from Los Angeles to Moloka'i, Hawaii last year. Last month, I found a rust free 1959 TR3A here on the island. The previous owner had it hiding under cover in his warehouse. It had been sitting for a few years and required new brake hoses and a bleed and new slave clutch cylinder to get it back on the road again. I'm still sorting it out and at the moment it's a good daily driver, perfect for the island.
In a previous life I was a Jaguar Certified Mechanic at a dealership for 12 years (1981-1993). I also worked on MG Triumph Rovers and Maserati at this dealership.
My first intro to British cars was a 1966 TR4A with the factory targa hardtop. From that point on I've had other TR 4's, TR3, Austin Sprite, 1968 Jag XKE S 1.5 coupe, 1984 XJ6, 1993 XJS coupe. Before I moved to Hawaii I had to sell off the Jags. But I did bring a 1956 Chevy 2 door Wagon and a 1958 Chevy Apache truck with me.
I didn't think I'd find another car to tinker with out here, but I did.
And I found another barn find that I hope to get ...1953 MGTD complete. This one will need more than brake hoses for sure, but it's all there.
Mahalo and chat soon.
