Fresh Datsun 5 speed and assiciated goodies

Enticed by Kevin's Bugeye I'm offering my freshly acquired Datsun 60 series transmission, shifter, clutch slave, all the clutch bits and even a modified drive shaft - Datsun yoke in front, Spridget at the rear.
I just brought this home Saturday. Datsun A15 engine also available, was running Saturday morning.

Kevin has an offer in my PM for a trade, but I think he's more of a purist and likely won't be interested in the 5 speed.
If that's so, would anyone here like to buy this stuff so I can pay him for his Bugeye?
PM or email is fine.

I drove the Datsun before pulling the drive train, all gears are present and accounted for and I didn't hear any noises.
The tranny was full of gear oil when pulled, I always like seeing that.
I will ship but you pay boxing and postage.

$800 - not counting any shipping or crating. I will only charge what that actually costs.
If you want the engine that's extra $$.

I think the last one I purchased (here on this forum) was $425. That was three years ago and I think I responded to the advert within minutes, otherwise 3 other people would have bought it.

I sold one last August with the clutch parts and shift lever for $800.
It's now in a pretty blue Midget across the country from me.
There's one on Ebay right now, current bid $680 and $122 shipping with no shift lever and no drive shaft. I'll be surprised if it sells for the current bid price.
Also anyone who has done it knows you need to have a special drive line with Datsun yoke on front and Spridget at the back to make this work and that's included with this offer.

Not sure what you mean by "Datsun yoke", but if you mean cut off from the from the original driveshaft, that was a requirement for the Rivergate conversion, but that was ages ago. The Morrisiervice kit always came with a new yoke and u-joint. Both the Rivergate and my conversion now come with a new yoke and universal joint, so the cobbling together of the Datsun driveshaft front half and the Spridget rear half are no longer necessary. For the record, my kit comes with a premium u-joint with Zerk, but the Rivergate kit does not.

People are free to buy what they want, I am offering something to help whoever gets this transmission bolt it up to their car and I'm not charging extra for it.
I happen to have two spares, and wanted to add value to this deal to maybe get it sold quicker.
Mine happens to have a "premium U-joint" with a zerk. Mine was not provided by, supplied by, or made by Rivergate.

FWIW I am offering a drive shaft that is ready to insert into a Datsun 60 series 5 speed transmission and bolt up to a Spridget differential.
Are there better ways to do it? Sure I suppose.
Are there less expensive ways?

Also if by "cobbled together" you mean professionally cut and welded at Drivelines Northwest a month ago costing me $$$ then sure, cobbled together it is.

Sorry you are offended by question for clarity sake. You original post wasn't very clear as to what the driveshaft part was about, and while yours may not have been "cobbled together" there are conservatively dozens that were. I can't see how my question did anything but add value to what you are offering by asking you to clarify.

Sorry Gerard, you didn't deserve my punishment. I humbly apologize.

Less than 6 hours later - SOLD!

FYI, Rivergate does come with zerk fitting.

If so, I stand corrected. I'm just going by how often I've seen people post messages complaining that their U-joint didn't come with one. Maybe some do and some don't. Since it requires at least 2 different u-joints to make one, that a definite possibility.

Neither of mine came with a zerk on the u-joint.

If the zerk does not come off the center of the U joint like the original[which it does not] it is impossible to grease though the tunnel hole.

Kurt.

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying Kurt.
The one Drivelines Northwest installed for me has the zerk on the end of one of the caps.
When I pump grease in it comes out around the edges of all the caps so it must be hollow all the way through.

I’ve had my kit about two years, maybe Will moved to the zerk style then. Or perhaps he found an opportunity to buy a larger quantity at a better price and decided to make the change then, who knows? I haven’t called to ask when he did decide to change. Or maybe it's what’s on the shelf at the time an order comes in? It makes no difference to me, when it go’s bad I’ll pull it and put new ones in…
