Freezing your arse off on the left coast!

Well, its heading our way right now...rain (cold rain) has set in & the temperature is dropping quickly...they say we'll be below freezing by morning.

We'll get some residual later this week, but now am sitting out onna back porch in shorts 'n flip-flops, sunny 80 degrees F. Not looking forward to the rest of the week.

It's on the way too you, Doc. I have been fighting broken pipes for the last two days....arrrr! Bundle up!
Cheers, David.

Bunch of girly men I tell ya.

I've dislocated my shoulder so many times I can't count - not even a wimper. Smashed fingers, broke bones - I eat lightening and poop thunder - but when it's cold, I shrivel up, the hair on my knuckles falls out and my voice moves to a higher pitch. I admit it - when it’s cold, I put my hands down the front of my pants to keep warm and I find nothing there. That's why I live in SoCal

David -- sure is strange weather for you, that's for sure! I wouldn't wish this cold spell on anyone. It heated up today, though, got to a whole 10F (after another -17F last night). At least your weather will get better in a few days or a week. I'm looking at March... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Here in Eastern New Mexico...we plan on a balmy 6 degrees tonite...IF the wind dosen't blow. Just a bit north in Red River and Eagles Nest..they forecast -30 tonite. My cactus in my front yard have icicles on them and I have to literally carry my five year old weiner dog outside. I have my 911s...all my MGs..and my wifes bug vert and 65 Mustang crammed into the work bays...along with at least ten other cars.

I wanna witness the eating of lightning...but will pass on the thunder pooping. But I'm with ya on the cold...I was born and raised in upstate NY...but ran like a scalded dog when I was 18..lived all over the world but love the warm...no make that hot weather. As you age, fingers don't flex like they did and all the joints that got broken over the years...both knees, left hip, rt. foot, rt. elbow, alot of ribs...lost track of how many fingers. Keep telling the wife that Arizona is looking better all the time.

Boy am I glad you guys have this thread running to keep reminding me why there is absolutely no reason to go any further north than Daytona in the wintertime! And all I had to complain about today was an overcast sky!! This was in a paper I get. Some of you in the frigid north may relate! I hope it comes out readable!

We've had about 15+ hours of freezing rain...mixed with some snow. Took me 3 hours to complete my 45 min commute!

well it looks like the rest of the country is getting the same cold storm , looked pretty bad in Dallas

"Set FIRE to a GOAT"!?!?!

...I guess that'd lighten th' mood...

somehow.

"Wow, Olie! Izzat burnin' goat hair I smell? I feel all GIDDY suddenly!"

*sheesh*

30 here today - actually saw white stuff falling from clouds!

The updated forcast for us is the front will stay north of the peninsula. Jack may get whacked. He'll have to bundle Miss Agatha in a blanket. The rest of us will see low temps in the low fifties. Highs in low seventies. Perfectly acceptable, normal for the time of year.

I'm the same with cold as Cliff and jackq. Rather sweat than shiver ANY time. 95* F is just fine with me. Below 50 is Life Threat. Bad joints, poor circulation, dislocations and broken ribs... all make for an amalgam of physical abuse wot sees me disfunctional when cold. Daylight hours are increasing now so I'm happy. Sun worship is no flaw. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I guess for you tropical climate types 12 degrees F with a wind chill of minus 5 F is out of the question. Glad I'm inside today! Clear and sunny for a change though!

That's positively rigor mortis for me!!! From the sound of it, for Doc. too!

I'd be putting on long pants and a jacket or two. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
Yesterday it was 40 and I was in shorts working in the garage. No it isn't heated.I admit I didn't stay out there very long. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif
