Yeah, but other than your avatar, can you back it up?

Re: "Free Speech" and the Internet

Freedom of speach, like all of our other "rights", are predicated on the group's willingness to do what is neccessary to uphold those rights. The groups willingness to do, or not do, this is what determines the nature of any society. I sorta like our BCF society, and I am very grateful to Basil for allowing us to be part of his Forum.

Hurray for Basil!!!

Re: "Free Speech" and the Internet

Freedom of speech doesn't mean anybody has to listen!

Re: "Free Speech" and the Internet

Geez, guys, I was just saying that I thought it was a pretty good place, and I enjoy people getting along, and not having all the arguing that goes on in a lot of the other forums - gimme a break :savewave:

Re: "Free Speech" and the Internet

I totally support Basil's initiative to keep this a friendly and flame-free environment. I love coming here and reading all the postings. But don't let my manager know!

I grew up with a heavy family involvement in another car organization. Now that I am "growed-up" and a "perfeshunal", , I rejoined that organization. I am thoroughly dismayed at the vast amount of politics, flaming and what I call playground antics that occur on that website. I almost never go there, which is very upsetting because I "grew up" with that club and always aspired to be a part of that community. Not so much anymore. Of course, I found this community and that is actually a better thing!

I love old cars of all types. Let's keep the focus on the cars and not the "he said, she said" mentality that seems to be so rampant.

Like the beer commercial said - I luv you, man......! Anyone want a Bud Light?? rofl!

Re: "Free Speech" and the Internet

It is what it is. I have a great appreciation for what Basil has given us in this Forum, and I have no problem with how he regulates it, nor am I hesitant to voice that opinion. If that classifies me as a "kiss up", then so be it. Reguardless, I still say...Hurray for Basil, and what he has done here.

I don't think that "kiss up" comment was aimed at you Larry. It makes more sense, knowing some of these characters, that it was made at Mickey for his comment to Tony. That's how the thread reads and that seems to make sense. I doubt any offense was meant to you regarding your statement.
