I have looked a Triumph TR3 that has had a patch professionally welded to the frame. Does this markedly devalue the car?

Thanks

Charlie

Likely not. Most of our surviving cars are not pristine.
Professional to me denotes that more was looked at than just the patch to the frame . But also included making sure the frame and body are in proper alignment.
Also find out why the patch was needed. Excessive rust? Collision damage?

Thanks. It was a high end sports car dealer that performed the inspection and repairs. It wasn't collision, only rust. Balance of the frame l inspected and reported as typical surface. One thing I appreciate about a dealer like the inspection report which I believe includes the compression test. They reported the weaknesses and what they consider essential repairs. It wasn't prepared for the patch and wondered if that devalues the car.
