What is the difference between a TR3 & a TR3A frame?

We need a new frame for the LaDawri and there is a TR3A for sale locally.

Don't know what one is on the car now.
(It might even be a TR2???)

I'm not a total expert but I think early tr3s had front drum brakes. The difference would only be in the spindle so the frames would be the same. The rest is mostly in body styling.

Good luck

The 3A frames did have some tabs added for the Girling brakes; but I believe are fully backwards compatible. Very late frames might need the Lockheed tabs added, but TS39781LO still had the drum tabs on it.

And compared to swapping frames, welding on a couple of tabs is pretty trivial.

I still have a few good bare frames left, if you do not score the parts car. They are 400.00 and to be cost effective you need to be near a forward air depot for pickup as I sent the last one to Indianapolis, Indiana for just under 200.00 strapped to a pallet. John

Excellent...

That was just the information I needed.

Thank you all very much!
