the Drain plug is stripped. I will have to get a helicoil or something. Is there anything special to go into aluminum oil pans?

Cornwell Tools makes a very nice tap & o/s drain plug kit that I use on a lot of VW & Audi aluminum pans. It comes w stepped drill, tap, new o/s drain plugs that have a solid nylon sealing washer. O/s self-tapping plugs are a stop gap measure which in time loosen up. Helicoil also makes a very nice insert w/steel threads which are permanent cheers

I can get it tomorrow, should be a dealer in Sac that you could call. I found this online, most dealers stock it, we use it a lot on VW's. cheerrs[h=1]CORNWELL TOOLS[/h]5843 VISTA AVE

Found the part #[h=2]LS58850 - Oil Pan Rethread Kit, not cheap, cheaper than a new aluminum pan, think it includes 5 new drain plugs- you can go in business, lol. So when figured that way, not too bad. Never had one fail, they may have smaller kit or a shop nearby may also have one & be able to do it for you, additional plugs are available also. cheers[/h]

I see from Cornwell's site it's actually a Lisle part. Also available on Amazon:
