Locked in an old towing yard. Place has been abandon for 3 years. Asked all the locals and no one knows who owns it. Gonna chack at the court house tommorrow hopefully. Don't know if it's a 4,5 or auto. I see one running around, but it's an auto.

Did someone let you out yet??

Hopefully you can get ahold of someone and buy it for a song.

Doug: the 1980-82 (approximately) Datsun 210 is the source for a 5 speed all synchromesh transmission that can be installed in Spridgets with the 948-1275 cc engines, using a kit from Rivergate.

Kellysguy: if it's been there 3 years or so, the arm-eating guard dog is probably no longer on duty....... At least you'd be able to see if it's a 'real' transmission and worth following up on.

twas, no dog but folks 'round those parts don't take to kindly to trespassers. It would take some effort to get it and I would be noticed. I'd rather make a phone call and get permission first. If I get caught, I'm a trespasser at a min and suspected as a thief. The owner wouldn't be too open to negotiations. If it were me, " sure, you can have it for $5,000 or go to jail."

Mindin' boundries and bein' respectful goes a long way down here.

Found the owner. Called but "hop was closed" although his secretarry was asking him questions while I was one the phone w/ her. "That ol' Datsun's been gettin' some calls", but she had to ask him how much he wanted for it. No reply was given but I was told to make and offer, but I can't go into the yard to look at it. I was asked to call back tommorrow. I didn't ask directly about the wagon. I don't think I'll be going home with this one. I can't stand people who play games. AFAIC, they can keep the little raggedy piece of junk.

Called and left a message about "scrap metal and junk cars" for the guy. Haven't heard anything back and don't expect to.
