Forum to rescue LBC's

Last summer, my friend drove past a '69 Camaro sitting in a field on the side of a fairly major county road. He had seen it many times before over the years in the same place, and decided the next day he'd finally take some time and go talk to the owner.

He found a driveway near the field and drove up towards the house. As he started to get out of the car, a man came out of the house screaming "I know you're here about my Camaro, I seen you lookin' at it, I ought to blow yer head off. I pushed it back up here with my tract'r sos you stay away from it. Get off my )#$()&* property. I'm gonna get my gun."

Pretty crazy!

This last year we had a well known local "collector" pass on. He had a sizeable collection of all kinds of history, Model A's, Metropolotins, Pirce Arrows, Studebakers, and all kinds of other goodies, all rotting away in his yard. Some of them you could see from the road, but he had lots more hidden. Many of the local car folks tried to save some of the cars, or parts but he either woulden't sell, or he asked an outrageous price. So it all sat there, melting into the ground.
When he died his son took over. They went through all the stuff only to find that most of it is worthless, too far gone even for hot rod shells. It was all auctioned off. I'm sure they still made a good buck off the few things stored inside, But the whole story makes me sick. All those years that guy sat on those cars never benifited him or anyone else.

Welcome to the Northwest Sammy! you "city slickers" just don't know your place!

I lived up there for a couple of years and it cracked me up how many times people would ask me "Where ya from?" and then immediately ask me "So when ya goin back?".... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Knocked on a door yesterday. BRG Spitfire with a hard top. Dash wood looked good and very little rust on what looks like original paint. Girlfriend wants it out of yard but boyfriend out of town. She let it slip he paid $1000. Will follow up.

Think I'll buy the car. The MGB is down getting a restoration. This Spitfire has an original factory hardtop, nice dash, not a lot of rust, nice interior, needs some TLC, and I'll be driving it while the B is down.
