forth of july

we are wishing all a wonderful, happy, and safe fourth of july, it is every year at this time i cant help but remember my junior high school friends eddy buck and johnny dufis, yup thats his last name "dufis", they stuffed a metal pipe with gun powder in an attempt to build a "super bomb", what they forgot to do was make a hole for the fuse, so they put the bomb in a vice and using a large nail and hammer attempted to create an opening for the fuse, the result was both of them losing several fingers and an eye, the explosion was so great it broke two windows in my grandmothers house a block away, some time after the explosion john bought an m.g. it was no fun watching him try to shift the car with only the two fingers remaining on his right hand, lets watch our kids, be safe, and have a great 4th of july!, anthony.

I had the pleasure of seeing Lee perform this in person while I was over seas on a remote assignment.

Happy Birthday my sweet America, you are and exceptional place to live!!

silentunicorn, the fourth of july is one of our countrys great traditional celebrations, however most people dont realize that congress voted for independance on july 2, 1776, and although the declaration had already been drawn up was dated july 4, 1776. but not actually signed until aug. 2, 1776.

I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.</span>"

He was thinking the second. Still don't know why we celebrate the fourth
