For you LE guys-wheels?

I just aquired a set of LE wheels and am wondering if the regular chrome Rostyle lug nuts are ok to use with them? I see Moss warns to use the correct "Black" lug nut or damage WILL occur. wonder if they are the same shape as the chrome or do they have a different shank size..I notice the wheel studs do not stick out as far as they did on the Rostyle wheel. Just a ploy to get you to spend $5 ea for black lug nuts?
Thanks
Mike

I don't have the answer but $5 a lug is kinda steep for lug nuts ain't it? Is the shape any different where you'ld have to use them.

I know, $5 ea is a joke.. The chrome ones seem to snug up fine but the ones that came off had a narrow section that fit "into" the wheel somewhat, unfortunatly those were nice alloy lug nuts from a Triumph Stag and they don't fit the B's.

I guess the Stag did not have enough lugs.

The stag wheels are a little differant than the B wheels. I had a set on my GT years ago, and the center section on the stag wheels are not as deep as the B wheels. No problem on the front, but in the rear the hub nut sticks out too far to fit the center badge. I found some "spacers" that fit the wheel center OK, and held them on with some little allen screws. I had to buy the lug nuts from the dealer (!!!) and back in the mid 80's they were over 7 bucks each. Yow!!

I put a set of Datsun Z wheels on our car and went to an aftermarket wheel nut from WELD INC (purchased thru Summit Racing). The site gives the stud dia., the dia. of the shank as well as the depth. I had to shorten ours about an 1/8 " but the dia. worked good. I think I bought 20 of them (came in packs of 5) for about $45.
