Sad news, James.
I was just discussing him last week at work.
I've got "Night Train" playing softly in the background right now.

Very sad news indeed. One of the true greats.
 
A GREAT pianist. His music will live on for a long, long time. I have about five of his albums and they never go out of style with me.

Wow. For those of us who grew up back in the day as band geeks - particularly jazz band geeks - Oscar Peterson lands somewhere between revered and worshiped. His technique was surpassed only by his innate feel for the music. He will live on through the music that will continue to touch peole for generations.

Here's a toast to one of the great ones.
