For the History bufs.

Wonderful documentary! And the side benefit for Dominic at the end is pretty neat as well.

Will he be using the Suit of Armour at the reenactments?

The project did seem to have Spooky good luck.

Nobody (that I've seen, anyway) gave an explanation as to how/why that "R" was on the gravesite in a modern car park... "Reserved"? Some council member's initial? Some "secret" on the part of folklore? Most likely is the "reserved" designation, I guess.

But an eerie coincidence.

And what a brutal time in history that was.

The historical portrait of Richard III is certainly a good example of medieval fake news. That is the case with many rulers that were deposed, as a conqueror one of the best ways to ensure your popularity was a smear campaign against the guy you had just killed.

So true, history was generally written for the benefit of the man who controlled the scribe, pen, and paper. Tough, and brutal days indeed. Thanks for posting this informative short. I noticed some of it was fake news right off because they said he was buried under a parking space in a car park, and cars had not even been invented until the late 1800's! :thirsty:

Even some of the Egyptians "erased" a previous king's record. Defacing statuary, chiseling hieroglyphs from obelisks, promoting fake biographies, etc.

And with regard to historical inaccuracies, watching a "documentary" about Germany and Hitler's rise to infamy, there are shots with pseudo-framed 35MM strips, and they've used "FILM 5063" with photos taken in the mid and late '30's of Germany and Hitler. At the earliest, Kodak made Tri-X in 1940 and it would seem unlikely a German would use Kodak film when Agfa and Ilford were the German stock widely available there... what else is the "documentary" handing out as fact?!?

Much of how we view Richard also comes from Shakespeare who you must remember was writing for a Tudor monarch when Richard was a member of the house of York. So it could be seen as making the house on the throne feel superior about themselves and to gain favor with them.

Yup. Political correctness, even then.

Hey, they just found his bones, didn't they, under a parking lot? Looked a little bit on the thin side though.

And if he was under a parking lot, would be driven over by Four Doors or Tudors. :excitement:

Yea, a bit over 1 year ago now as I recall. He did have a curved spine but none of the other physical abnormalities attributed to him. The skeleton apparently lacked feet, cut off at the lower shins for some reason. I think York was fighting to have the remains reinterred there.
