An old Irish blessing. "May the Devil follow you all the days of your life..........and never catch up to you."

May the wind at yur back never be yur own!

it has been a great St Patricks Day, i had to shovel some snow this morn, but i have been hanging in the garage doing some catch up machining jobs and drinkin Guiness (just cracked the 6th) listening to https://www.liveireland.com/ (Traditional and Folk side) and feeling pretty good...

May the lilt of Irish laughter
lighten every load.
May the mist of Irish magic
shorten every road...
And may all your friends remember
all the favours you are owed!

Low lie the fields of Athenry
Where once we watched the small free birds fly
Our love was on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
It's so lonely round the fields of Athenry.

“Work like you don't need the money, love like your heart has never been broken, and dance like no one is watching”

Aurora Greenway quotes

i luv that quote...

I'm listening to the Brothers Four on PBS right now....deep into a bottle of white wine (something a diabetic should never do!)

May your pockets be heavy—
Your heart be light,
And may good luck pursue you
Each morning and night.

My father always said "May you be introduced to St. Peter 1 day before the Devil knows you're dead".
I wish this for you, and lift a glass in your honour.
Dave

and the same for You

I love that quote by Banjo above. Very fitting on St. Pat's Day.

It is interesting to see what a big festival this day is in the USA. It was never that big a deal in Ireland when I was a kid (but it has become one, due to the American influence). Anyway, no matter....it's a great excuse for a party.

From me: "May the widgets ratttle freely in your Guiness can".

Actually, we tend to drink Smithwicks since it is a hometown brew from my Mom's town (Kilkenny). The Smithwick family is somehow related to us (yes, I know know Guiness owns them now).

Anyway, we went to the Morristown St Pat's parade (biggest in NJ) with our Curved Dash Olds quasi-replica (built mostly by my student SAE chapter). We'd hoped to run a Hatz bio-diesel engine but snapped a rocker arm in it, so we ran on the same Techumseh gas engine we used last year. Worked great.
Our place in the parade was just behind the "Morristown Madams" roller derby team.....and group of athletic young women with a definite "Jersey Edge".. They were great fun to watch with their stunts. At one point, one of the Madams slipped and fell, and about 1000 young guys came over to help her up. Such Gentlemen!

We were followed by an old flatbed Ford truck (yes...like the line from The Eagles song). It was loaded down with cheering people.
You can see the truck and The Madams in our video (below). Also, me and Lin driving the buggy and later, my Lab Coordinator driving it.

And I got to wear my rarely-used, real Irish sweater (made by relatives, about 35 years ago). We had a great time.

My Saint Patty’s' day in Boston sucked. Had to suffer through more boring seminars Saturday morning with a mere 4 hours of sleep & hung-over from the department festivities the night before (we Field Service engineers work & PLAY hard) where we cleaned out the hotel bar’s liquor supply. After that I then had to commute to the Airport in the snow & ice only to spent the next 16 hours in planes & stuck in airports trying to get home.

Bout the only good news was that I got upgraded to First Class for the whole trip, so I was able to get some sleep. But I took full advantage of the free liquor. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Also I was FINALLY able see the new Bond movie. Long arse movie but everyone gave me a weird look when I let out a rather audible "NOOOOOO!" when the Aston Martin wiped out.

Today - I'm home drinking coffee after sleeping in enjoying my kids & taking it easy.

Not to make you feel bad,we had a good
day celebrating the Granddaughter's 2nd
birthday.
The other day I let her sit in the
driver's seat of the TR6.She looked at me
and said - "Key?". Scary.
