I thought he was "gone" a number of years ago. :laugh: Seemed like a bit of an android for the last decade. Still, a good man.
Time to tear down the American Bandstand.

Reminds me of that joke a few weeks ago... with the death of Davy Jones. He died??? Well, now I'm a bereaver. :cooler:

One of the best things about Dick Clark is his making his way through life and celebrity as a good joe while remaining upbeat and encouraging. Others could take a lesson here... Rest in peace.

I agree, I don't generally wish anyone dead (OK I do but that's another topic :whistle: ) But it felt a little embarrassing to watch him since the stroke. Rest "in Peace" has particular meaning here.
 
I guess it's easy enough to feel that way on a basic or "gut" level, and I admit that I sometimes felt that way as well watching him. But he never tried to hide the fact, just as Kirk Douglas has never tried to hide the fact. And while some might call it EGO for such folks to continue to appear in public, I don't. Ultimately, I suppose I might have been more embarrassed for myself, for thinking about his slower, slurred speech, etc., rather than just thinking God bless him for keepin' on keepin' on...

On the contrary, I think he did a fabuouls job and showed true grit. He's a tropper! He could have stayed home but didn't. If you looked in his eyes you could see he still had it.

82 ~AND~ a stroke and still bringin' it. I wouldn't expect any less from Mr. Clark. Let's all hope we have the hope and optimisim to do the same at his age.
