Geez, you guys, I wasn't even gonna check the end of this thread because it was getting so long, but here you are building my garage for me, and you've got it almost done!
The house is a modular-built all-electric, and we definitely want to tie into it. Converting to a gas stove is definitely an option that I know Chas. would love. (But would add to the expense of the overall project, of course.) We've got 5 empty circuit breaker slots left on a 120A subpanel, but we filled up the 200A main panel when we finished a room upstairs. (The electric baseboard heat takes up a lot)
Don't know what that means in term of remaining capacity without going to look in a book, but we definitely need juice for the compressor. Don't have a welder yet, but Chas. has every other tool known to man and Craftsman.
By the way, I do the wiring on our home improvement projects. I'm a rank amateur compared to you guys, but nothing's burned down yet. OK, so I almost electrocuted Chas. once when I didn't turn off the right circuit breaker (a double-switch job), but it could happen to anyone
Anyway, guess we'd better get going getting this project designed if you guys are really going to come help with it. Hmmm, MG2004 will be in this neck of the woods . . . Maybe we could time it for then? But that'll be in the summer, and Gary's trip will be in the fall, so maybe we'd better stick with that plan, if a plan it really is...
