for all you armchair pilots

Honestly that one offers nothing except a box to sit in, versus a plain old desk setup. What you want is multiple monitors and if possible a custom switch panel.

Check out this one, and be sure to watch the videos. https://www.hanskrohn.com/start.htm

I've seen some really good ones but for the life of me I can't find the sites right now.

Yeah - the multiple display stuff is amazing.

Some of the projects people have embarked on have expended enough $$$ to build a full scale airplane. Amazing projects and the workmanship is something to behold:

737 sim based on MS flight sim

767 homebuilt simulator

Another homebuilt 737 sim based on MS Flight sim

..and hey, don't forget the ground-bound too! Even more fun are the race car sims. It ain't surround-vision, but it has a lot more going for it /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Around here a 172 rents for about $115/hr. Think of all the *real* flying you could do with the amount of money some of those sims cost.

Yeesh.
