food rationing?

Garden goes in this weekend...anyone needs tomatoes, squash, corn, okra, peppers (sweet and hot), peas or green beans....see me in about 45 days! I'm thinking about picking up a separate plot just for corn since last summer there wasn't any to be found...guess thay used it all for fuel.

Jerri's garden has been in for a week or so....corn included.

yea well, I bet you have a roof too!

The one thing I miss about living in the Garden State...we had a wonderfully productive garden up there...S. Fl. sucks for traditional gardening, too much heat sand and sun!!

Father in law has had a wonderfully productive garden for years in Miami, Mike. Beans, tomatoes, peppers, dill, cabbage the size of soccer balls, broccoli, onions, radishes, the lot. Lots of compost, an adjusted planting time, and some sheep poop.

Where did he find sheep in Miami? (in Jersey I lived real close to Monmouth racetrack. We used thoroughbred horse doody which yielded monster crops!!...and no, they did not give us the runs! :jester: ) We tried a garden down here years ago and had no luck with it! Minimal yield for the work involved! It either rained too much, or not enough! :wall:

Yep, Nutmeg, looking forward to it! not sure if we are doin it sti souvla or kleftiko!
