The Datsun 5 speed I found on https://www.car-part.com came today. It is the correct one. It does have a serial number that starts with "F" and the number "60" stamped on the casing. On a previous post we were not sure of the accuracy of the listing. The listing I responded to called the tranny a RWD 1982 B210. When I called CBASS, who had the tranny, they asked if it was a "A15". They use this identifier. Oh yes, you may have to use Nissan instead of Datsun in the search phase. The year is the key. Evidently they do not differentiate between Nissan, Datsun, 210 or a B210. I said yes to the A15 and they sold it for $125. With the freight to NC it came to a total of $190. From what I hear, that is a good price. They included the shift lever and the bearing housing which I asked for. I hope this helps anyone who might be looking for a 5 speed for their Sprite.

Nice find, indeed. They're still out there, just need a bit of searching.

Some times you just get lucky. I paid $250 for mine shipped and thought I got a pretty good deal. Congrats!

Yes

A Datsun 5-speed transmission from August 1979 to 1982 Datsun 210. This can be from a coupe, sedan or wagon.

All the pertinent information is on the above referenced Rivergate website.

Sim, check out the web site I mentioned. You may need to subsitute Nissan for Datsun when you are searching, but you end up with the right tranny as long as the year and car are correct. '79 to '82 is the key. Also A15 is mentioned and will be the correct tranny.

Called the guy today- it came out of a 620 Pick-up, won't work, but I may look at putting it into my MGB!
