Floor pans

New member, not familiar with procedures. I am working on AH bj8 and floor pans are severely rusted. I talked to the shop that eventually will paint the car. He suggested using fiberglass to repair the floor pans. Has anyone tried this.

My first Healey 100 6 had fiberglass repair to the floor. No problems for 20 years. Steel is better but look at your budget.
