Hi all!
I'm in the process of putting some Miata seats in my TR6 to replace my nearly destroyed originals. I'm using Rick Patton's conversion brackets. I'm encountering a snag in that I think the PO may have put a metal plate on the floor pan to reinforce the spot where the pan mounts to the frame underneath. This is under the driver's seat between the right rear chair mount screw and the transmission tunnel. Is this a PO ad on, or is there really a metal plate that's supposed to be there? Unfortunately, this plate seems to keep the miata bracket from sitting flush.
Sorry for the picture quality, I was doing this in the dark and already had the carpet pinned down by the Miata bracket.
Edit: I think I may have found the answer to my own question on Bob Danielson's page. That plate is supposed to be there, but gets moved slightly to accomodate. Also, looks like I'll have to trim out a little bit of my padding under the carpet. Still, if anyone has any experienced suggestions on this whole conversion, I'm always open to advice. Thanks.
