floor mats

My wife just bought me a new set of rubber floor mats from VB. They are a perfect match in all respect except the finish is full of bubble like defects. Has anyone had this problem? I haven't called VB yet but they look like poor copies from being reproduced too many times.

My wife got me a set from VB a few years ago and they look good. I recently ordered alot of stuff from them just last week and wasn't happy with several things. A set of clear"B hive" front turn lamp lenses that didn't match, one completely wrong part (?) instead of a rear wheel stud and missing directions for another item. I called and they gave me no problems at all. I didn't even have to send the other stuff back. They just said okay and reshipped the replacement parts. I say call and tell them your not happy. Let us know how it goes........Donny L

My impression is that VB is operated by employees, but that Moss Motors is staffed by enthusiasts.

My experiences with VB have never been terribly bad, and even Moss has their hiccups now and then.

Used to be, you could count on a higher quality (reproduced) part from Moss, but unfortunately the quality has suffered across the board; I have suspected for years that the parts are largely from the same sources.

I bought a set of the rubber mats from Moss last summer, but have been reluctant to put them on my fresh tan carpets. Call me paranoid...

I called VB this morning and they will check for a good set and replace mine. They don't want the first set back. I'm hoping the next set will be better. Its nice that there is still "costumer service" still in America. (Speaking of poor "costumer service", we took my wife's Toyota in 'cause the check engine light and vehicle stabilization lights came on. As we waited for a rep, I discovered the fuel cap was not on tight as the owners manual said that would cause a vacuum leak. We told them what was wrong and they still charged 60 buck to turn the lights off. Took all of two seconds. They then wanted to sell us a new car.)

I do not use the rubber mats that came with my car. I kept finding moisture built up underneath them and had to remove to dry out the carpet. After about eight or ten of those episodes, I finally figured out they were optional. It will take me many more trips to wear out the easily replaced carpet anyway.

Interesting that you have had that problem. You might look for some kind of leak. I've never had that problem except once when I got stuck in a 200 mile rain/snow storm. Then the water was coming in over the wind screen and under the top.
I like mats cause I'm always bringing in dirt and grave and it is easy to lift the rubber mats to shake out.

Hey, John, haven't you ever come into the house and had your wife yell,"I just cleaned that floor! Get the "L" out of here." So, that's what happened to the "L".
