We have one of those little roll-around hydraulic jacks rated at one ton and it grunts to lift the MGB. Will a real floor jack rated at 1 1/2 tons lift the front of my F250 pickup?
 
I have a 1-ton that lifts my impala (3950lbs) with no problem... Granted I only lift one corner at a time. I would almost use a 2-ton to lift a truck.
 
If it's cheap divide the rating by 2... if it's really cheap divide by 4 .... or get a good quality jack

ALWAYS use good jack stands and wheel chocks...

The one that has the 911 and CPR info on the sticker? Ahhhhh, the $19.95 Widow maker. They don't call 'em that for nothing. I've used them before...also blew a few of 'em up before too. You should be able to get the front up but BE CAREFUL. Use stands and don't get under it till it's 110% on stands and rock solid.
 
Got a 2.5 ton REAL floor jack yesterday. I ALWAYS get jack stands solid before I even stick my hard head under a vehicle.
 
DNK...I REALLY want one of these...but $$$$$ prohibit it right now :(
 
Lukens...anytime you have something in the air it's scary...isn't it? Safety is definitely #1 !!!
