TR2/3/3A Flooe panel to bulkhead joint detail

The forward end of the floor panel on my TS 58023 as it attaches to the bulkhead kick panel is quite different than the joint on post 60k cars.
The kick panel on this on folds back under the floor where it is lapped and welded. Do you think this is correct on earlier cars or might it be a modification? On newer cars, the floor extends beyond the bulkhead bottom and the two are pinch welded forward of the actual joint. I'm curious since PO claimed that all the sheet metal is original.

I have tr3a s, 455822 was built in the spring of '59. It has the kick panel folded under like yours. Your ts58023 was built in the summer of '59. About 3 months before TS60001. My '60 tr3a, 75773, was built in June of '60, and has forward lap as you show. My experience in metal work forbids iron "drinking water", as found in later cars with the lap joint facing the front wheel! You have both shapes. I needed repair to my kick panels, so I modified them to fold under.

Thanks to both. I thought that might be the case.
Le T. I think the later design was, and is, a lot easier to spot weld. I don' think ST was overly concerned with water intrusion.
