A lot of folks are being evacuated from their homes due to flooding conditions. Our property has a high elevation so no threat here, but reports of 4.6 inches have fallen over night around the Tulsa area. The water just can't run off fast enough. Heavy rains predicted for the rest of the day and continuing until morning. Bad for some people, real bad! A Tulsa fire fighter was swept into a storm drain, washed away and drowned, that's how fast the water is flowing in some areas. PJ
 
Just upgraded to 6.2 inches of rain!
 
We live in the North East section 45 miles from Arkansas as the crow flies. Very hilly here and we live on a high ground area, it doesn't flood here, but the folks who live in the low run off areas are getting hit pretty hard as the rivers and tributaries can not handle this much water this fast. PJ
 
We have had flooding around here too, in the past thirty days we have gotten 16.2" of rain which is a whopping 432% of normal and has set a new record beating the old one by six inches. On the plus side it has pretty much lifted the drought, on the minus side if it keeps up it will ruin the crops.
 
I agree with too much ruining the crops, but were in cattle country and mostly cows, hay and horses. Most horses are sheltered and hand fed, to a point, the cows weather the storm and feed on pasture grass and hay. The nicer ranches has open shelters for the animals to get under. PJ
 
And as of this morning, the forecast is for rain 9 out of the next 10 days. Anyone have the plans for building an arc?
