Hi
Mine is a '66 TR4A IRS. My project this week was re-bushing my steering column. As I was under the dash and studying the wire harness from the steering column I noticed a single brown wire not connected to anything. I began to wonder if this was related to the often storied "flash to pass" feature. Hopped on the internet which led me to a solution and this diagram:
After I matched all the wire colors from the light switch harness (five wires in all) I felt confident. Presently, my brown w/ blue stripe from the switch was connected to the brown w/ blue stripe in the wire harness. I located a double snap connector in the basement and proceeded to connect the brown wire from the switch with the brown w/ blue stripe and - TA DA! Flash to Pass now working. Who would have thunk it after owning the car all these years.
Hope this helps someone. Apparently, the published wire diagrams have it wrong
