Fixing turn signals at head

Is there a way to get into the head to fix or clean up the turn signal indicator contections. I think I've track the problem down to the head contectors. I have power going into the head from the flasher, but only have power coming out on one side (the wrong side) at the bottom of the stator. Is there a way to open the head at the steering wheel and adjust the connections.

90,
My TR3 is stored on the mainland, but I remember there were three small "grub" screws that held the metal plate that held the turn signal head. Look on the steering wheel hub behind the spokes - they're countersunk into the hub.

You also have to loosen up the gland nut at the bottom of the steering box because the whole tube with the wires has to come out. Early 3s have a one-piece steering column and others have a split shaft. Maybe someone has done this job recently can describe it better.

Check the archives I thought this was a question a couple of months past. I think Don E. had the answer but don't count on my memory!

With some further research, I think I did find the answer. The head must be removed from the tube(car) and on the backside of the turn signal/horn unit, there are 3 flat head screws that must be removed to open the head unit. I do believe that I'm going to install a custom chrome turn signal switch with an indicator light built into the handle that I found on ebay, instead of removing the head and tube. The switch looks very nice in the pictures and would add to the interior looks of my TR3. I only hope I can get it to work correctly. I'll keep you posted
