Fix It Again, Tony....

In the latest edition (Jan, 2007) of Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car, in the tech help section ( Fix it Again, Tony by Tony Pearson) a reader sent a question in about a windshield wiper problem with his 1970 Triumph TR250 . Hmmmmm

Then Tony proceeded to tell him that part of the wiper assembly was under the dash. Hmmmmm

Well, I guess he is partially right in that the doors to get to the assemblies are under the dash.

Tough fix. The poor fellow's right wiper wasn't working. I did some repairs on my wiper assemblies through the scuttle vent once. Not recommended. One needs to go to dental school to perform this task...standing on your head, stacking BB's, with a mouth mirror.

I thought that Fix It Again Tony referred to FIAT cars, like Fix It All the Time!

Bill,
You paint a great picture. Unfortunately it will probably be stuck in my head the rest of the day. One question, when standing on your head, stacking BB's, with a mouth mirror is it advisable to be wearing one of those white surgical masks so if the BB's were to fall they don't go up the nose? Could you post a pic? Oh, that's two questions, sorry.
Phil

FWIW... fixing the wiper rack is very easy on a Fiat (124) as the top of the entire scuttle is removable w/o disturbing anything else.

Find It Another Transmission. Yeah, I had a couple of those.

I think ya'll may have missed the point. The guy writing in says he has a 1970 Triumph TR250! There ain't no such animal. A 1968 would be appropriate. You would think that someone writing a letter to a mag would know what kind of car he has, and the columnist should know the same.
Whatever....

He just had a 1968 TR250 that sat on the lot until 1970 and then sold, titled as a 70 model. Lucky guy!

You're right, better to come here. At least you will be dealing with people that have personal experience with these cars.

I have heard stories of Triumphs being held over, or not selling, till the following calendar year and I guess I have to believe them. But two years is pushing it, especially since the model changed.

If that were the case then the two (2) brand spanking new 1976 TR6s that Paretti Imports in Metairie, LA are holding and never sold or titled would technically be 2007 TR6s if they were to be bought. Unfortunately, they are not for sale.
