Me an' Jenni entered Jewel (my Midget) into her first car show today. We started out at Best of Show this morning and unloaded a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 (428 CJ, 4-speed)off of a trailer - this was to be my boss' ride. His wife took her Pro Street '71 Chevelle, and her parents took their '59 Ford Galaxie convertible. My boss' Mustang died en route (carb problems) and so the rest of us went ahead and set up the tent and cleaned our cars up. By the time judging was finished, I'd say about 125-150 cars were entered, including a yellow '69 Mini that parked next to me. I was originally planning on autocrossing again today, but I wanted to give the car show thing a try. Oddy enough, my registration/parking spot number was my racing number - 39! The show was called the Hambden Congregational Church Car Show, and, appropriately, takes place at a small church in Chardon, Ohio. Every year, the pastor's long-suffering wife picks her favorite car in the field to recieve an award, and this year, Jewel was picked to recieve Poor Sweet Mary's Award! I gave Mary a ride in the car and she absolutely loved it. I'll have pictures up soon. Stay tuned!

Most Excellent! Congrats!

Big SISTER. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

It was the only award that was "judged." The only other awards were People's Choice and Kid's Choice, which ended up being everyone voting for their friends. I would have posted pictures tonight but I had to go look at an Alfa.

AND?!?!

It's a black on tan 1979 Sprint Veloce, with around 71k on the clock - stored for the last 20 years. Paint has checked and there is surface "browning" all over the place, but no dings, dents, or creases I could see. Only rust through was on the mirrors. Interior smells like mouse urine. Anyone here interested?

Well, ya did say "Alfa" after all. 2L with SPICA fuel injection I'll assume. It'll be a real crapshoot as to whether or not that system will work after all that time unless it was regularly run. Adds a bit more work to the "Awaking a Sleeping LBC" tretise. If it turns out to be an early 1.8L EFI car it'll be "better and worse". Different set of potential problems.

Stoddard spread Alfas around up that way for quite a while afore they got all "snooty" an' went Porsche exclusive, y'know. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

I thought all of them were 1.7Ls, and that they weren't officially imported into the US, just Europe and Australia? School me, Doc! Part of me really wishes I had the scratch for this car.

Ummm.... "RUN Cam, RUN!!!"

Bag-O-Worms!

Ask 'em to "chime it UP!"

If'n it don't start an' warm up to 180* you need to grin and leave.
