I remember those days....My daughter at 2, at 18, and graduating at The Art Center College of Design at 22.....Wonderful times!

My son Grant at 18 in my BJ8 on one of a couple long trips I took with him in the car. We went to Miller Motorsports in Tooele, UT and attended their two-day high performance driving course (he spun out on the track--no bent metal--I think it taught him a lesson). I taught him to drive in the BJ8, but I couldn't talk him into taking his driving test in it (he passed with a near-perfect score in his '96 Cherokee). He's in the Navy now, 'driving' a cruiser in the South China Sea.

When I was taking my driving test in the late '60s in Massachusetts, you couldn't take it in a car with a console or one where the examiner couldn't reach the brake with his foot. The other thing was if you took your test with an auto trans, you could only drive an auto. If you took it with a manual, you could drive either. I had to remove the console from my Dad's 64 Rambler (the auto shift lever was on the column) in order to take the test. I saw this parking guide on FB the other day and thought what a perfect car for taking a driving test it would be. Parallel parking ... no problem. And three-point
