Hi Guys,
Took out the Healey for the first time this year tonight and it really was great. I did a few things to her over the winter with your help and it seems it all worked out. This forum has helped me out so much over the last years, I would like thank you all. I hope you all are enjoying your Healey as much as I'm enjoying mine.

Me too!

I took a "first ride" today too, in the 3000 MKIII I was working on. First drive was a little interesting when the throttle linkage fell apart and blocked the rear carb about wide open (!). Judicious use of the clutch and switching the engine on/off and I was able to limp the couple blocks back home.

Second ride, after lunch was much more enjoyable, doing my test loop a couple of times while touching up the carb setting.

Then I washed it, and with any luck, it'll be headed to New Mexico ASAP to be reunited with its owner.

Question: any body here have any success with platinum plugs and comletely stock ignition? I tried them decades ago, and deemed them inappropriate, but this car has them, along with a high speed cutout, and I'm wondering if the ignition isn't strong enough to jump the gap.

(decided to post this in a separate thread, rather than hijack this one...)

Real first ride; dragging the Healey out of storage for the first time this year. I've got just under a month to catch up on maintenance, and prepare the car for the (invitation only) Eyes on Design annual fund raising car show held at Edsel & Eleanor Ford's estate in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan. https://www.eyesondesigncarshow.com/
