Well, after getting official plates on the Tunebug today, I decided it was time to take him out for a little spin. What good fun. Reached almost 55 mph! Plenty fast enough for now, what with brake leaks and other unknowns. This is gonna be fun!

Darn right.

Beep beep, Bugeye comming through.

Where are the hubcaps?

I took them off in case the guys doing the inspection had to remove the wheels. Didn't want them to break anything. The inspector guys decided they didn't want to mess with the wheels anyways, so they took my word that the brakes were fine. I need to adjust the brakes anyways, so I'm leaving them off until the maintenance is done.

Whoo, at least you got em.

They're in great shape, too. Not sure if they are original or repros, but they look nice.

the first ride is unforgetable!
at least mine was....
ur car looks awesome, droo!
beep beep, vvvvrrrooooommmm!

Drew, are you ever going to have fun! Even 55 feels like you're flying. As I tell people, "I can hotrod all over, and I'm the only one that knows I'm doing it."
Jeff

Good for you!! I lived in Wyoming and driving up Casper mountain was like heaven!!

Utah mountains are sure pretty. Pictures taken about 5 minutes from my house. I look at these from my back yard. Great roads for testing out the Tunebug as I get things put together. Big smiles. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Congrats! have fun.

Congratulations Drew!

I just took the afternoon off from work yesterday and drove my Bugeye down to a nearby (60 miles away) British car shop, where they were setting up for their big annual swap meet. The car ran flawlessly.

Kurtis did you see any heater and or windshield washer switches??

I'd like a pair of those as well! Kurtis--nice to hear you're getting your Bugeye around. It's so good to have these little guys back on the road, distributing fine petroleum products everywhere you go.

They didn't actually have everything set up yet, so I didn't actually look for/at any parts. They just had most of the cars that would be for sale out and lined up.

I had planned to go down today, but my daughter is having a birthday party, and I didn't want to risk getting missing it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Great looking ride...enjoy..enjoy...that first cruise is the best.

Washer pump switch available from VB Part # 8-3220 $34.95 and they are in stock. I just ordered one.

Bounce, bounce! Glad that you are having fun. BTW, I am a Moss distributer as well as an expert witness. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angel.gif
Cheers, David.

I'll probably order one of the washer pumps, but I'm not sure. Can't imagine they really do much good from a functional perspective. Always nice to have the parts on hand, though, especially the hard-to-find ones. I still have the original pump that came with the car, though it seems to be frozen up somehow. I'll have to try and crack it apart and see if I can reuse it.
