Ya can blame jlaird for me finding your site.

I'm a USAF retiree living down here in Paradise, the UFO Capital, or Hurricane Magnet which ever suits ya fancy.

I tell everyone I had 2 strikes against me the day I was born: 1st. I was born in St. Louis, Mo. The Show Me State, state symbol is the mule. 2nd. I was born under the sign of Tarsus the Bull. Now I ask ya what do ya do with a Bull-Headed Jackass. My wife of 30 years (come Sept.) says ya luv em or kill em.

I had a 59 MGA in high school and developed my love for Sports Cars (not Race Cars) with it. To escape the probable life style (and jail time) that comes from living my teenage years in glorious parts of East L.A. in the late 60s early 70s (we moved a bunch when I was a kid), I joined the AF before a judge gave me the choice of jail or the Army. Unfortunately that was the last time that I saw my “A”.

The wife bought me my 79 “B”, it was fairly clean when we got her. Since then I bead blasted her down completely, replaced everything that I had the aptitude to replace and sent her off for some body repair and a fresh coat (21 coats to be exact) of paint.

I’m a fair weather driver (thankfully that’s over 200 days a year here). If it looks like I might have to put the top up I drive my truck and turn on the air conditioning.

I’ve got 2 other projects sitting in or next to my hobby shop. The next project is puttn a 51 Dodge truck onto a 92 Dodge Dakota Ext. Cab Frame and running gear. I thought that I would have the only 51 Dodge Ext. Cab but I was wrong. In one of the truck Mags I read an article that someone has already done it. Just goes to show that there are no new ideas out there (so they say).

The other is my 74 “B”. It’s a very good project car. Someone has already put a lot of new parts on her but lost interest when the oil pressure went south. Body is in good shape. No observable cancer, but we’ll see after a good bead blasting.

That’s all for now.

Heya dizzy, welcome aboard! Born in STL, huh? Ever been back?

Let me extend a welcome from the Land of Enchantment. We've been having lovely Spring weather here though nothing like what you have there I'm sure. Looking forward to hearing more about your projects and your MGs. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif

weeee... more people from the 'FL Emerald Coast' /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Welcome from another Florida transplant, and USAF weenie! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif

Jaybird,

I've been back a few times, not nearly as often as I should of. I've still got family there, ST. L, Kenneth, Cape G and a couple more burgs in the bottom corner. I'm thinking about coming up this summer possibly.
