MGB First Motion Shaft

My question is how to bend the lock tap washer on the first motion shaft once the left handed nut has been tightened. There is not much material to work with and wanted some ideas from others on this problem that I'm having. Would it be okay to put a drop or two of thread sealant on the threads to solve this problem.
Thanks,
Joe

Hi, Joe and welcome to the forum.

The method I've used for the job is to use a pair of Channel Lock pliers, after starting the bend by prying the tab a bit away from the bearing face with a "claw" of some description. And a drop of thread-locker wouldn't do any harm, either.

Someone you may want to look up is Jim Boffo in New Brighton. Used to be a BMC/BL dealership:

Hello to All,
Happy to report that the hammer and chisel method was successful. Just had to remind myself to be patience and take my time. I have the tab bent over!!!
Thanks,
Joe
