So to ease my guilty conscience,

A second but first original post!!!!!! I own a 79 "B" I purchased in 1986. This is the second "B" I have owned having purchased a 1977 model in 1979. During a relocation I had to part with that Arizona purchased car. "It had the electronic overdrive" and it even worked. Anyway I sold that one to someone in Florida moved overseas (Japan) for a few years and when I came back to San Diego I purchased my current ride. I found it in a Used Car Lot in Chula Vista, and after a little haggling purchased for I thought an expensive price of 3500 dollars. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
it is in the classic blue paint finish of those late models - albeit pretty faded now days. I beleive it was driven in Tijuana or thereabouts but not sure how many owners it had before I latched on to it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nopity.gif
I last drove the car regularly in 1989, Since then it has become a casual weekender. I have dragged it around the country from San Diego to Riverside /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nopity.gif Off to St Louis where I never got a chance to drive it. You see while in San Antonio the car got some contamination in the clutch (moisture-water), so it needs a real thorough flush and I have the new cylinder replacements but just don't have the time.

tick tock, tick tock

which is why I really don't post much..........but when I do.......

Well it's back home in California in the High Desert and needs tires and since I really want to put those spoke rims on it "Don't ask me why-I guess I desire punishment."

anyway cheers!!!!!! all

Llooks like a fun forum I'm sure I will be back again soon. My MGB probably won't be on the road anytime real soon though. Maybe before the year (2004) is over.

Have Fun /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/troll.gif

Welcome Jeff!

You're in pretty good company....a lot of us have cars that "probably won't be on the road anytime real soon"!

Welcome, Jeff. I can vouch for what Nial just said. I have several that won't be on the road soon. Or the track.
It looks as though you are well on your way, and hopefully this forum will ease your path.
Jeff

Welcome!! I have a 1980 MGB in that same blue, which was also faded when I bought it, but boy did she polish up nicely!! Plenty of elbow grease worked wonders. Needs a couple of gaskets here and there now, but I'm on it......as soon as my back fells better /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nopity.gif

Hey, if you get the B back on the road "maybe before the year (2004) is over," that qualifies for "real soon" in my book. Lots of people have project cars that they need years to get back on the road!
