First Gear Sliding Hub Endplay

Would someone please address this question about 1st gear sliding hub endplay? Mine does the same thing.
If there is too much endplay, what problem would it create?

My guess: If the endplay is gone when in 1st, then it's not an issue (it looks to be designed-in, not a manufacturing defect). You could send the link to Magnus Karlsson and ask him, though; he's done some excellent gearbox and OD assembly videos. You could tell him I suggested him, he does know who I am:

The side play on the first motion shaft, I think, is normal (that's why you have pilot bushings).
