Sweeeeeet /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif !! Sure, it was only up and down the street and it was accompanied with some backfiring, but sweeeeett!!
(I am ignoring the large amounts of smoke from the DPO header tape and the significant run on problem and just enjoying the monent!)

And there was much rejoicing!

Run-on is likely just OLD GAS.

...oh wait.... WHICH car is this?!?!

i am so jealous, i am probabably 3-4 months out from my first drive what with christams around the corner. bu ti have put out my wish list already, hoping santa leaves me sopme parts!

DrE - that would be the 75. The other is still in pieces and the Carbs are still on vacation with Hap.

Gas is still old though. What else causes run on?

Hot plugs + too much spark advance + coke/carbon in the head or on the valves.

Woo hoo. Driving is what it is all about. Even with the extra DPO excitements.

i just got a midget, i cant wait for the first drive....

it will be the oldest car i will have ever ridin in!!! let alone drive, and make run myself /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

i cant wait for the ill running engine, mushy brakes and not so complete electrical system sparking!! LOL

HOOboi!!... Adam, you're gonna feel right at home in this crowd.

Simon: Tim's added the right info. At high rev, throttle(s) shut you're still getting gas (unburnt, to some degree) into the exhaust if the mix is "fat" (rich). It'll detonate and cause some backfire. 'round here we say it adds to "Th' Mistique of the Marque". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Thanks - tonight I will re-time and work on leaning out just a little to see if I can remove just a little of the "Mistique of the Marque".
