First drive in new LBC, What is it?

From what I've seen,in England,if there's two or more
of any vehicle, then there's an owner's club for it.

Well an update is in order.

He was bought on Ebay, and he was from Florida.

As you know, there were 12 made in total and eight were by Ray Jay. It is believed that he was one of the four that was run afterward by Nigel Talbot. The original mini front engine compartment, drive line, power gear is retained. The rest is a "birdcage" made out of 2" square tubing. The rear suspension is coil over while the front is stock with Spax shocks.

Nimi was an ex pat to Florida where the thermostat had been remove, it has been replaced, engine drained with some antifreeze added for our lovely winters here.

He has a modified 1100 installed and has been driven. The pedals are very close together all seems tight and firm. A oil leak while running will be a future attention, I am thinking a cork seal on the main has gotten a bit too dry. Pedestrians actually chase after him to see him.

I have a FANTASTIC\FRIEND artist who knows alot about Nimi and is working on the exterior design with me. We had a little bit of a questions over the rims (I went with four spoke Revolutions), but he is right and I need to find what is proper.

Now we are going over the holes that the DPO has made in the fibre and are working out what is suitable\functional solution. We are also discussing the features of the rest of the vehicle.

So far we have agreed on,

1 Spoiler on the rear to fill in the gap
2 The rims as mentioned above
2 Pretty plain back with an international symbol to display his glory
3 Small tow hitch in the back and a nerf bar in the front with fogs
4 Eliminating the current side mirrors and adding a period mirror on the proper A pillar
5 The third brake lights on the targa being removed and LED's being added in the back as well, maybe an additional flood
6 Unions on the flank
7 Traditional 70's racing seats, probably Corabuea (sp)

Ahh, Nimi runs and drives like a charm and with some time, money and a bit of attention we should be a "genuine" real head turner.

Well done! I knew I had seen one on eBay -- very cool to now know where it has gone. Do keep us updated.

:iagree:

And a great thing it is, too.

Makes owning my Rochdale a lot easier- newsy quarterly newsletter, an annual AGM meeting with a lunch, contacts, club support and spares, and a active interest in keeping them on the orad and preserving the cars and faciltiating uniting prospective owners with the cars.

And there are 25 more-or-less on the road and maybe 100 or so still in existence.

A good club makes owning a low production volume car much more practical.
